Job summary

Academics is recruiting a resilient Behaviour TA to join a primary team near the Mickle Trafford area of Chester. You will support pupils facing SEMH challenges, helping them regulate emotions and re-engage with learning, with a daily rate of £95-£105.

The role focuses on de-escalation, mentoring, and targeted literacy/numeracy support, in supportive environments with consultant guidance from Academics.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Behaviour TA, youth mentor, or SEMH support specialist.
• A Level 2/3 qualification is advantageous.
• Reliable access to transport to Mickle Trafford and surrounding areas.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to process one through Academics).

Responsibilities

• De-escalation & Mentoring: Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques for pupils.
• Academic Engagement: Provide 1:1 and small-group support for literacy and numeracy tasks.
• Classroom Support: Work with class teachers to maintain an orderly learning environment.
• Professional Growth: Apply up-to-date techniques gained through practical experience and modern education and training.

Candidate Profile

• Practical experience as a Behaviour TA, youth mentor, or SEMH support specialist.
• A Level 2/3 educational qualification is advantageous, supported by a commitment to education and training.
• Reliable access to transport (public or personal) to reach school locations in Mickle Trafford and surrounding areas.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Academics).

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
