Academics is recruiting a resilient Behaviour TA to join a primary team near Mickle Trafford, Chester. You will support pupils facing SEMH challenges, helping regulate emotions and re-engage with learning, with a focus on de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies.

Experience as a Behaviour TA or SEMH support is valued, with a Level 2/3 qualification being advantageous. Salary £95–£105 per day, long-term temporary placement in Mickle Trafford and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience as a Behaviour TA, youth mentor, or SEMH support specialist.
  • A Level 2/3 educational qualification is advantageous, supported by a commitment to education and training.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one via Academics).

Responsibilities

  • De-escalation & Mentoring: Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques for pupils.
  • Academic Engagement: Provide 1:1 and small-group support to keep pupils focused on literacy and numeracy tasks.
  • Classroom Support: Work alongside class teachers to maintain an orderly learning environment.
  • Professional Growth: Apply up-to-date techniques gained through practical experience and modern education and training.

Pay Rate: £95 - £105 per day

In this dynamic post, you will support pupils who face social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, helping them regulate emotions and re-engage with learning. While a relevant qualification is preferred, a confident, positive attitude and lived support experience are equally valued. Earning £95 - £105 per day, this placement offers a solid foundation for expanding your credentials in education and training. Academics ensures you are placed in supportive environments in Mickle Trafford and surrounding areas with dedicated consultant guidance.


Key Responsibilities

As an active Behaviour TA, you will help create a calm, structured classroom environment:



  • De-escalation & Mentoring: Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques for pupils

  • Academic Engagement: Provide 1:1 and small-group support to keep pupils focused during literacy and numeracy tasks.

  • Classroom Support: Work alongside class teachers to maintain an orderly learning environment

  • Professional Growth: Apply up-to-date techniques gained through practical experience and modern education and training.


Candidate Profile


  • Practical experience as a Behaviour TA, youth mentor, or SEMH support specialist.

  • A Level 2/3 educational qualification is advantageous, supported by a commitment to education and training.

  • Reliable access to transport (public or personal) to reach school locations in Mickle Trafford and surrounding areas.

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Academics).
