Job summary

Remedy Education are seeking a confident and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for a South East London school, starting in September. The role involves supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, building positive relationships and helping learners stay engaged.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in behaviour support, SEN, mentoring or youth work, and be calm, proactive and professional.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, ADHD, ASD, trauma, or additional learning needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and maintain calm, supportive environments.
• Experience in education or youth-work settings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.
• Using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Supporting classroom routines, transitions and structured activities.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.
• Encouraging confidence, independence and positive decision-making.
• Helping maintain a calm and safe learning environment.

Male Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - South East London - September Start - £100-£117 per day

Remedy Education are currently recruiting for a confident and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive school based in South East London from September.

This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, ADHD, ASD, trauma, or additional learning needs. The school are looking for a strong role model who can build positive relationships, set clear boundaries, and help pupils stay engaged in learning.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
• Using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Supporting classroom routines, transitions and structured activities
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
