Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd. are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker/Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Special Needs School in Harrogate. Roles are 1:1 or small groups, starting September, with temp to perm potential.

Pay is £100-£110 per day, Monday to Friday, school hours 8.30 - 3.30pm. Experience with autism and challenging behaviours is beneficial, with duties across classroom and off-site activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with special needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience and empathy when supporting children.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and manage behaviours.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement IEPs for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom and behaviour management strategies.

Behaviour Support Worker (BSWHG) Harrogate, England

Empowering Learning are working with a Primary and Secondary Special Needs School in Harrogate who are seeking Behaviour Support Workers/Teaching Assistants to support in their classrooms on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. These roles are to start September and are temp to perm.

Pay: £100-£110 a day Monday to Friday school hours 8.30 - 3.30pm

The school caters for Primary and Secondary pupils supporting Children with Autism and Challenging Behaviours and communication needs.

You will be involved in classroom duties and off-site recreational activities.

Duties
  • - Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
  • - Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • - Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • - Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • - Support students in their academic and social development.
