Are you confident, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs?

We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Chorley. This is a full-time, term-time only position starting on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent following a successful initial period.

• Supporting students aged 11-16 with SEMH and associated additional needs

• Working one-to-one or in small groups to promote positive behaviour and engagement

• Helping students regulate their emotions and access learning

• Supporting the class teacher in managing challenging behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment

• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

• Has previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs (in education, youth work, or care settings)

• Demonstrates strong communication, patience, and emotional resilience

• Is proactive, consistent, and able to remain calm under pressure

• Has a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people

• A child workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

• Right to work in the UK

• References covering the last two years
