Are you confident, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs?
We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Chorley. This is a full-time, term-time only position starting on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent following a successful initial period.
Supporting students aged 11-16 with SEMH and associated additional needs
Working one-to-one or in small groups to promote positive behaviour and engagement
Helping students regulate their emotions and access learning
Supporting the class teacher in managing challenging behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Has previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs (in education, youth work, or care settings)
Demonstrates strong communication, patience, and emotional resilience
Is proactive, consistent, and able to remain calm under pressure
Has a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
A child workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
Right to work in the UK
