An excellent Specialist School in Westbury is currently looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join them on a long-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity for Psychology or Criminology graduates, or experienced Teaching Assistants, to develop experience with Special Educational Needs and Behaviour, and to support mental health.
The SEN School is seeking a confident, dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic and passionate about mental health. Ideally, you will have previous experience working with children, whether through voluntary work, babysitting, or sports coaching. Experience with challenging behaviour would be highly beneficial.
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work with children aged 11 to 16 with various special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and behaviour challenges. Your role will involve helping students stay focused and on task, managing their behaviour, and supporting their emotional well-being by helping them understand and process their emotions and struggles. The school emphasizes alternative education methods, including arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and cooking.
