Job summary

Cover People are seeking a confident, energetic and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Salford. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who need additional support with their behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

No two days will be the same as you build positive relationships, support learners during lessons and transitions, and work closely with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral leaders to help pupils

Qualifications

• Calm, confident and resilient under pressure.
• Patient, proactive and able to build strong relationships.
• Comfortable supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Help children manage emotions and make positive choices.
• Use behaviour-management and de-escalation strategies.
• Encourage pupils to engage confidently with learning.
• Provide consistent expectations, routines and boundaries.
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions and breaktimes.
• Work with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral leaders.
