Job summary

Budmouth Academy Weymouth is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to join the Pastoral team and promote positive attitudes to learning and strong behaviour across the academy.

You will work 40 hours per week (8:00–16:30) with a 30 minute lunch, term time only plus 5 INSET days, with a salary of £26,475, enhanced DBS checks required, and a commitment to safeguarding and staff wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Hard-working professionals with excellent knowledge in their area of expertise.
• Ability to promote positive behaviour and high standards in learning environments.
• Experience or aptitude for pastoral support and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Respond to on-call information to support students back to class or remove from lessons to the reset room.
• Provide emotional and social support to students and model positive behaviour.
• Assist with pastoral care, including helping unwell or distressed students.
• Supervise students at social times.
• Coordinate and manage detentions for students removed to the reset room.
• Liaise with parents when students fail to meet expectations.
• Communicate well with students, staff, and parents about actions taken.
• Maintain visibility around the academy to help regulate emotions and behaviour.
