Job summary

Randstad UK is partnering with a specialist SEN school in Bury St Edmunds to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor on a full-time, long-term basis. You will support pupils with SEMH, ASC, and ADHD, building self-regulation and resilience throughout the school day.

As a trusted role model, you will run 1:1 mentoring, de-escalation, and small-group sessions, collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to track progress and implement consistent strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience with children/young people with challenging behaviour in education or care.
• Knowledge of nurture principles and trauma-informed strategies.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.
• Desirable: Team Teach, Safety-Net, or PRICE training.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 mentoring and coaching to support emotional and behavioural regulation.
• De-escalation and emotional regulation support during distress.
• Assist pupils to re-engage with learning and EHCP targets.
• Run small-group mentoring on anger management and resilience.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies; track progress.
• Maintain clear records of pupil progress and incidents.
