Job summary

The Milton Keynes Academy is seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to join the behaviour support team. This permanent, term-time role focuses on helping students with complex behavioural needs overcome barriers to learning and promote positive behaviour, inclusion and wellbeing.

Experience with social, emotional and mental health needs is essential; you will work across the wider school Monday to Friday, fostering safeguarding and professional relationships with families and external agencies.

• Strong communication, interpersonal and listening skills
• Calm, patient and resilient approach in challenging situations
• Ability to build professional relationships with students, families, colleagues and external agencies
• Organised and adaptable, managing competing priorities
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS and barred list checks required
• Prohibition from teaching search where appropriate

Job description

This Behaviour Support Mentor post sits in the behaviour support team at The Milton Keynes Academy, part of Creative Education Trust, and is permanent and term time only. The work centres on helping students with complex behavioural needs overcome barriers to learning, promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and wellbeing. The role suits someone with experience of students with social, emotional and mental health needs, working across the wider school on a Monday to Friday pattern. Enhanced DBS, a barred list check and references are required before any offer.
