Job summary

The Milton Keynes Academy is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to support students with behavioural, social and emotional needs. You will work within our safeguarding-focused team to promote inclusion, resilience and wellbeing, building trust with learners, families and staff.

Ideally you have prior experience with young people in education or pastoral settings, strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure while safeguarding and promoting positive behaviour.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, ideally within an educational or pastoral support setting.
• Be passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
• Demonstrate a calm, patient and resilient approach when managing challenging situations.
• Have experience supporting students with behavioural, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
• Build positive and professional relationships with students, families, colleagues and external agencies.
• Be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and listening skills.
• Be committed to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting student wellbeing.
• Have the confidence to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
• Be organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities.
• Share our values and have a genuine belief that every young person can succeed when given the right support.
