Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and make positive changes to their behaviour? Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an enthusiastic and resilient Behaviour Support Learning Mentor to join a welcoming school in the Woodbridge area of Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant or similar professional who is confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs and barriers to learning.
As a Behaviour Support Learning Mentor, you will play a key role in helping pupils to manage their behaviour, develop positive relationships and re-engage with education. You will provide consistent support to pupils who may experience difficulties with emotional regulation, behaviour, social interaction or engagement with learning. Working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral and SEN teams, you will help pupils develop the skills and confidence they need to make positive progress.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working with children or young people who present challenging behaviour, SEMH needs or additional learning needs.
You will need to be calm, patient, resilient and confident when dealing with challenging situations. The ability to build strong relationships with young people while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries is essential. Experience of SEMH, behaviour support, restorative approaches, de-escalation or safeguarding would be highly desirable.
