Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join a mainstream secondary school in Waltham Forest. You will support students across KS3 and KS4 with behaviour and pastoral needs, helping them stay in lessons and develop positive approaches to learning.

Qualifications

• Previous behaviour support experience is essential
• Experience working with secondary-aged students across KS3/KS4
• Strong knowledge of behaviour management and de-escalation
• Experience supporting students with SEMH or additional pastoral needs
• Calm, resilient and consistent approach in challenging situations
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Learning Mentor, Youth Worker, Pastoral Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant would be highly relevant

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support across KS3 and KS4
• Support students both inside the classroom and through targeted interventions
• Build positive and consistent relationships with students who require additional support
• Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
• Work alongside Heads of Year, pastoral teams, SEN staff and teachers
• Help students manage emotional regulation and barriers to learning
• Promote improved engagement, attendance and positive behaviour
• Support successful reintegration into lessons following behavioural incidents

Up to £130 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)

Long Term Futures are recruiting an experienced and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a mainstream secondary school in Waltham Forest, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Behaviour Mentor who understands the challenges that can prevent young people from fully engaging with education. You will work closely with students requiring additional behavioural and pastoral support, helping them remain in lessons, manage challenging situations and develop more positive approaches to school.

Previous experience supporting challenging behaviour within a school or youth setting is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support across KS3 and KS4
