Job summary

PK Education is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming Sheffield school. You will support pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning and build resilience in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with children in educational or youth settings, strong behaviour management, and excellent communication. An enhanced DBS is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, youth work, care, or similar setting.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for pupils with behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Support pupils in managing their behaviour and engaging with learning.
  • Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support strategies.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents where appropriate.

Job Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming school in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for pupils with behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
