Job summary

Guardian Jobs is seeking a high-achieving Behaviour Mentor for an Outstanding secondary school in Wandsworth, Inner London. The role involves one-to-one and small-group behavioural support for students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with emphasis on developing resilience, self-discipline, and attainment in Maths, English, and Science.

Qualifications

  • A degree from a Russell Group University.
  • Excellent GCSE results and strong A-Level grades.
  • Proven record of academic achievement.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with young people.
  • Confident to support learning across Mathematics, English, and Science.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, professional approach.
  • Genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group behavioural support.
  • Managing behaviour effectively and de-escalating challenging situations.
  • Supporting students who may be at risk of disengagement from education.
  • Working alongside Heads of Year, teachers, SEND staff, and senior leaders to implement intervention programmes.
  • Monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and academic progress.
  • Acting as a positive role model and mentor for students.
  • Supporting students' social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Delivering targeted academic interventions to improve attainment in Mathematics, English, and Science.
  • Encouraging high levels of aspiration, engagement, and achievement.
  • Contributing to the school's culture of excellence and high expectations.
