Job summary

Academics is seeking a Behaviour Mentor for a friendly mainstream primary school in Slough to join the support team from September. The role involves working 1:1 and in groups to support pupils with behaviour challenges, helping them engage with learning and develop positive strategies.

The successful candidate will have a graduate or aspiring psychologist background, a calm and patient approach, and a passion for child development.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils needing additional behavioural support
• Help children understand and manage emotions and behaviour
• Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques when needed
• Support the class teacher in maintaining a calm and focused learning environment
• Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
• Work alongside SEN staff to implement consistent support strategies
