Qualifications

• Previous professional experience within a school or education setting.
• Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Support Worker, Learning Mentor or Teaching Assistant.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Confident working on a 1:1 basis.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Supporting pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Supporting behaviour management strategies.
• Delivering mentoring and pastoral interventions.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions and unstructured times.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
• Monitoring behaviour and providing feedback to school staff.
