Job summary

Justteachers Ltd in Ely is seeking a dedicated SEND Support Worker to help pupils across all age ranges develop emotional regulation, resilience and confidence alongside learning.

You will work with teaching staff to create a calm, structured classroom, using de-escalation and restorative approaches, building positive relationships and supporting SEMH needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in a behavioural support, education, care, youth work, or mentoring setting.
  • Understanding of SEND and/or SEMH needs with ability to adapt approaches.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour using calm, consistent strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.
  • Relevant training or qualifications (e.g., Youth Work, Childcare, Teaching Assistant Level 2/3) or equivalent practical experience.

About the role:

A welcoming and supportive SEND setting in Ely, dedicated to meeting the needs of children and young people across all age ranges. The school provides a structured and nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop their emotional regulation, resilience, independence, and confidence alongside their learning. Staff work collaboratively to create a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages engagement and personal growth. Full-time role available, starting ASAP and/ or September.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted behavioural and emotional support to pupils, helping them to understand and manage their behaviours effectively.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to create a calm, structured learning environment that supports positive behaviour and engagement.
