Job summary

Academics in Reading is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs. You will run 1:1 and small-group sessions, help pupils regulate emotions, and build positive relationships to boost engagement with learning.

The role is on-site in Reading with ASAP start; salary £90-£105 per day, and you will collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals to implement individual behaviour plans.

A supportive and inclusive school in Reading is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people and is committed to helping pupils develop the confidence and strategies needed to succeed.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviour or have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will provide consistent support, help pupils understand their behaviour and encourage positive strategies for managing emotions, triggers and difficult situations.

The school is looking for a Behaviour Mentor who is calm under pressure, consistent in their approach and confident when dealing with challenging situations. Previous experience within education, youth work, residential care, mental health, SEN or alternative provision would be highly beneficial.

This Behaviour Mentor position would also suit graduates interested in pursuing careers in psychology, counselling, social work, youth work, teaching or other professions supporting children and young people.

You will become part of a collaborative team where the Behaviour Mentor will receive support from experienced staff and gain valuable experience in behaviour management, SEMH and SEN.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
