Job summary

Choice Teachers are working with a large secondary school in Willesden who are seeking an experienced, confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their behaviour and pastoral team from September 2026. This is a challenging behaviour-focused position supporting secondary-aged students who can display high levels of challenging and disruptive behaviour.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing challenging student behaviours.
• Ability to de-escalate incidents and set clear boundaries.
• Strong pastoral support and youth-work relevant background.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted behaviour support across the school.
• Work directly with students displaying challenging and disruptive behaviour.
• Respond calmly and confidently to behavioural incidents.
• Use effective de-escalation and behaviour management strategies.
• Establish clear, consistent and appropriate boundaries.
• Support students who have become disengaged from lessons.
• Help students regulate their behaviour and make positive choices.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour interventions.
• Support students returning to lessons following behavioural incidents.
• Work closely with the school's behaviour and pastoral teams.
• Monitor behaviour, attendance and engagement.
• Build strong relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Act as a positive role model for young people.
