Job summary

Empowering Learning is partnering with local schools in Redbridge to recruit a Classroom Behaviour Buddy. The role focuses on supporting pupils with ASD, MLD or challenging behaviour, building rapport with learners and working with teachers and the SENDco to tailor learning approaches.

Ideal candidates will have UK classroom experience, be eligible to work in the UK, and hold a DBS (Update Service) or be willing to apply for one. A dedicated consultant and CPD opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident.
• Previous experience in a UK Primary/Secondary School.
• Previous Teaching Assistant experience within the last 12 months.
• DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to apply for a new DBS.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with ASD, Moderate Learning Difficulties or Challenging Behaviour.
• Work closely with class teachers and the SENDco to implement tailored approaches.
• Build rapport and trusting relationships to progress learning.
• Operate within a 2:1 capacity in the classroom and participate in training provided.

Classroom Behaviour Buddy

Empowering Learning is working in partnership with local schools in the Borough of Redbridge. The schools are looking for candidates who can support pupil's with ASD, Moderate Learning Difficulties or Challenging Behaviour. The schools are likely to have Education Healthcare plans for pupils which identifies the areas of development and support needed.

The Behaviour Mentor will be confident in building rapport and trusting relationships in order to progress learning. This role involves working closely with class teachers and the SENDco to implement a tailored learning approach where required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have a passion for education and SEN. The schools have experienced teams already in place and are able to provide additional training and development.

This particular assignment is to work within a 2:1 capacity.

In order to be considered for this role you need to:
