Derby Pride Academy is seeking a Behaviour and Pastoral Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team. The role focuses on leading behaviour, attendance, safeguarding support, student welfare and personal development to help vulnerable pupils thrive.
The post is 37 hours per week, term time only, with a salary on the Derby City Support Pay Scale - Grade J (Points 30-34): £36,390 - £40,240 actual salary. You will work closely with families, staff and external agencies.

Derby Pride Academy (DPA) became one of the first alternative provision academy free schools to open in the country. DPA provides alternative provision for young people aged 11 to 16 who are referred by their mainstream school or Derby City Local Authority. The academy is committed to creating an environment where every student feels understood, valued and cared for, enabling them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve success. DPA is seeking to appoint an exceptional Behaviour and Pastoral Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role within the academy, leading on behaviour, attendance, safeguarding support, student welfare and personal development. The successful candidate will be a calm, resilient and highly effective leader with a passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people. They will work closely with students, families, staff and external agencies to ensure that every pupil receives the support, guidance and challenge needed to thrive both academically and personally. The successful applicant will play a key role in shaping the culture of the academy, promoting high expectations, positive behaviour and strong pastoral care across the school.
The Behaviour and Pastoral Manager will play a significant role in promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of all pupils. Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), the post holder will contribute to the academy's safeguarding culture by identifying and responding to concerns, supporting vulnerable students, maintaining effective records and liaising with families and external agencies where appropriate. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will be expected to model best practice, ensure safeguarding remains a priority in all aspects of academy life and uphold Derby Pride Academy's commitment to keeping children safe from harm.
