Wallace Fields Infant School and Nursery is seeking a Before & Afterschool Care Assistant to join our wraparound care provision for infant school children. You will help provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment after school.

Working under the guidance of the Before & Afterschool Care Leader, you will support play activities, monitor wellbeing and safeguarding, and build positive relationships with children and families.

Before & Afterschool Care Assistant

Are you passionate about working with young children and helping to create a safe, fun and nurturing environment where they can thrive? We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Before & Afterschool Care Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting children of infant school age in our wraparound care provision.

Working under the direction of the Before & Afterschool Care Leader, you will help deliver engaging play activities, support children's wellbeing and development, and ensure the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained. You will work closely with colleagues, parents and carers to create a welcoming environment where children feel happy, secure and valued.

We are seeking someone who enjoys working as part of a team, can build positive relationships with children and families, and is committed to providing high‑quality care. Whether you already have experience in childcare, education or playwork, or are looking to develop your career working with children, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference every day.

The role is available on either a 15‑hour per week contract, working 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, within our After School Care. Candidates who are interested in additional hours may also support our Breakfast Club, working 7:15am to 8:45am, Monday to Friday, increasing the contract to a total of 22.5 hours per week.
