Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Inverclyde Royal Hospital site, is recruiting for a part-time operational post holder to oversee bed capacity, patient placement and site flow. You will support Duty Managers and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safe, timely care across shifts and escalation when required.

You will work within NHS governance frameworks, maintain data accuracy, and influence discharge planning while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Experienced, confident and resilient practitioner with ability to lead and influence across professional boundaries.
• Strong organisational skills and clear commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.
• Ability to prioritise under pressure and make timely, safe decisions to minimise delays in the patient journey.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate real-time bed state for RAH and IRH during each shift.
• Coordinate flow of emergency and elective patients to support timely access to beds.
• Support safe patient placement and compliance with infection prevention and control guidance.
