University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two Bed Managers to oversee the safe coordination of elective and emergency admissions. The role involves analysing bed utilisation data, supporting patient flow with the Capacity Team and ensuring timely access to care across the Trust.

The successful candidate will work with ward teams and clinical colleagues to identify barriers to flow, support admission planning, and coordinate transfers and discharges in line with

Formación

• GCSE Maths and English to GCSE 9-4 or equivalent required.
• Experience with core IT systems in a hospital setting is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate elective and emergency admissions with accurate documentation throughout the day.
• Maximise the efficient utilisation of the Trust's beds in collaboration with clinical and clerical staff.
• Coordinate bed base usage and discharge lounge flow to enhance patient flow and timely discharges.
• Liaise with internal and external agencies to support admissions and transfers.
• Identify potential problems affecting admissions/transfers and escalate appropriately.
• Work autonomously with regular ward visits to assess bed capacity across the Trust.
• Support ward admissions and communicating transfers with other facilities.
• Maintain thorough records and handovers of patient progression.
