Job summary

Sofina Foods Europe in Grimsby is seeking a Production Operative to join the Coated department. You will operate batter production processes, work with colleagues across Production, Hygiene and Engineering, and help maintain safe, efficient production while upholding high quality standards.

You will own your production area, support continuous improvement, perform quality checks, and document production records. A strong focus on food safety, teamwork and problem-solving is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate completed or willing to work towards.
• Experience in food manufacturing, food production, or FMCG preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, quality and health & safety requirements.
• Able to work towards production targets in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
• Proactive in identifying issues, solving problems and suggesting improvements.
• Team player with effective communication across the operation.

Role Overview

As a Production Operative within our Coated department, you'll play an important role in ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with colleagues across Production, Hygiene, Engineering, and operational teams, you'll help maintain smooth production flow while supporting a culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Duties

• You will operate batter production processes to achieve volume, quality, and performance targets.
• You will work collaboratively with production and support teams to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• You will take ownership of your production area, identifying and resolving issues that could impact productivity or quality.
• You will support continuous improvement activities that enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• You will carry out routine quality checks and complete production documentation accurately.
• You will ensure products consistently meet company and regulatory food safety and quality requirements.
• You will identify and report quality concerns promptly to minimise risk and maintain standards.
• You will contribute ideas that support operational excellence, product quality, and cost efficiency.

Ideal Candidate

• You will have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to work towards one.
• You will ideally have experience within a food manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environment.
• You will have a good understanding of food safety, quality, and health and safety requirements.
• You will be comfortable working towards production targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• You will have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing high-quality products.
• You will be confident identifying issues, solving problems, and suggesting process improvements.
• You will work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues across the operation.
• You will be motivated to learn new skills, develop your knowledge, and take on additional responsibilities.
