Job summary

Sofina Foods is seeking a Production Operative within the Coated department in the UK to join a fast-paced, safety-focused manufacturing team. You will operate batter production processes, monitor quality, and help maintain smooth production flow across departments.

Ideal candidates will have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be working towards it, with experience in food manufacturing, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environment preferred.
  • Good understanding of food safety, quality, and health & safety requirements.
  • Comfort meeting production targets in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality output.
  • Confidence identifying issues, solving problems, and suggesting improvements.
  • Strong team collaboration and effective communication across operations.
  • Motivation to learn new skills and take on responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate batter production processes to meet volume, quality, and performance targets.
  • Collaborate with production and support teams to run day-to-day operations efficiently.
  • Own your production area and resolve issues impacting productivity or quality.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Carry out routine quality checks and complete production documentation accurately.
  • Ensure products meet company and regulatory food safety and quality requirements.
  • Identify quality concerns and report them promptly to minimise risk.
  • Suggest ideas to enhance operational excellence and cost efficiency.

Role Overview

As a Production Operative within our Coated department, you'll play an important role in ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with colleagues across Production, Hygiene, Engineering, and operational teams, you'll help maintain smooth production flow while supporting a culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.


Key Duties
  • You will operate batter production processes to achieve volume, quality, and performance targets.
  • You will work collaboratively with production and support teams to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
  • You will take ownership of your production area, identifying and resolving issues that could impact productivity or quality.
  • You will support continuous improvement activities that enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • You will carry out routine quality checks and complete production documentation accurately.
  • You will ensure products consistently meet company and regulatory food safety and quality requirements.
  • You will identify and report quality concerns promptly to minimise risk and maintain standards.
  • You will contribute ideas that support operational excellence, product quality, and cost efficiency.

Ideal Candidate
  • You will have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to work towards one.
  • You will ideally have experience within a food manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environment.
  • You will have a good understanding of food safety, quality, and health and safety requirements.
  • You will be comfortable working towards production targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
