Job summary

Swinton Estate’s Terrace Restaurant is seeking a dedicated Bartender to join the team. You will deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced, all‑day dining setting with a forward-thinking, carbon‑neutral ethos.

The role focuses on hospitality excellence, engaging guests, and maintaining high standards of service with a professional approach. You will work 40 hours per week over 5 days in a premium estate environment, with evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working behind a bar in a hospitality environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence in recommending and selling food and beverage products.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient service to all guests.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure every guest receives a high standard of care.
• Provide recommendations and confidently promote menu items, beverages, and specials.
• Identify opportunities to upsell products and enhance the guest experience.
• Respond courteously to guest enquiries and assist with any requests.
• Maintain the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the bar.
• Prepare and serve drinks to guests efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure the bar is fully stocked with all necessary supplies.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation throughout service.
• Support opening and closing procedures, including bar setup and close‑down duties.
• Follow all cash handling and payment procedures accurately.
• Ensure all guest charges and end‑of‑shift reconciliations are completed correctly.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and service standards at all times.
• Complete daily operational checklists and records as required.
• Arrive for shifts punctually and presented in the correct uniform.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Undertake additional duties as requested by supervisors or managers.

About the Role

As a Bartender, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding service to guests visiting our Terrace restaurant and bar. You will ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience through attentive service, excellent product knowledge, and a warm, professional approach.

Key Responsibilities Guest Service
