Job summary

LQ Resorts is seeking a Bartender for its Food & Beverage team on Northney Road. You will deliver exceptional guest experiences, upsell drinks from the Drinks Library, and manage orders with precision while maintaining a clean, well-stocked bar.

This role requires 18+ years of age, a flexible shift pattern including evenings and weekends, and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction. Prior hospitality experience is preferred and a strong focus on safety and compliance is expected.

Job Title: Bartender

Department: Food and Beverage

Reporting To: Restaurant Manager

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity for a Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. The successful Bartender & Server will provide an excellent guest experience through exceptional service to all our guests, while maintaining a high standard and achieving maximum revenue and guest satisfaction. This position requires a flexible approach to a variety of shift patterns, including morning, late‑evening and weekend shifts. A minimum age of 18 is required due to bar work.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide a superior guest experience and maximise revenue by promoting and upselling from the Drinks Library.
  • Input orders into the point‑of‑sale system, accurately total, process and collect payments.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of whiskey, gin, cocktails, wine selection, wine service, beer service and mix glasses, and garnish beverages according to recipe and portion control standards.
  • Maintain the bar area and surrounding areas to a high standard, ensuring the bar is fully stocked, clean and tidy at all times.
  • Be visible and available to guests at all times, establishing rapport to build loyal, satisfied customers and promptly report complaints to Management/Supervisor.
  • Determine whether individuals have proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with statutory and company laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and monitor hygiene standards and practices.
  • Assist in preparation for service, including cleaning and maintaining glassware and china.
  • Check layout and preparation of tables, including room service duties.
  • Maximise service opportunities for guests to ensure return visits.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, wearing and maintaining a clean uniform at all times.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, including department‑specific procedures such as cash handling, card payments, and end‑of‑shift cashing up.
  • Be aware of and follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Previous experience preferred.

  • Previous experience within hospitality or a similar customer‑service role is desirable.
