Job description

Michelin chef-backed bar snacks. Curated cocktails. Brilliant hospitality. The opportunity to help shape the bar experience of an already thriving pizza business.

Spring Street Pizza isn’t your average neighbourhood slice shop. Led by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kemble, we produce 18-inch New York-style pizzas made from in-house fermented dough, world-class ingredients and a relentless obsession with flavour. Think serious craft, serious fun and a guest experience that leaves people reaching for their phones to tell everyone they know.

For the next stage of our journey, we’re expanding into our neighbouring arch to create Spring Street Pizza Bar: a drinks-focused venue where cocktails and wine are paired with a New York-inspired cicchetti menu curated by Tom Kemble.

We’re looking for a Bartender who has a genuine passion for drinks, loves true hospitality rather than simply providing service, and knows how to make every guest feel at home.

The Role

You’ll be at the heart of the Spring Street Pizza Bar experience, preparing brilliant drinks, bringing energy to the room and delivering warm, memorable hospitality from the first order to the final sip.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their craft and remains calm, organised and engaging during a packed Saturday-night service.

What You’ll Be Doing
Create an Unforgettable Guest Experience
  • Welcome every guest with genuine warmth and personality
  • Get to know our regulars and make new guests feel immediately at home
  • Read the room and adapt your style to create the right experience for every guest
  • Share the story behind our cocktails, wines and menu with confidence and enthusiasm
  • Make thoughtful recommendations based on each guest’s tastes
  • Help create an atmosphere that feels energetic, warm and effortlessly cool
  • Respond quickly and positively when something isn’t right
  • Ensure every guest leaves wanting to return
Deliver Brilliant Drinks
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks consistently and to specification
  • Take pride in presentation, flavour, balance and attention to detail
  • Complete bar preparation thoroughly before every service
  • Maintain excellent product knowledge across the full drinks menu
  • Keep up with drinks trends while understanding and protecting the Spring Street identity
  • Contribute ideas for specials, seasonal serves and new guest experiences
  • Minimise waste through accurate pouring, careful preparation and responsible stock handling
  • Support tastings and menu development as the bar evolves
Own Your Part of the Operation
  • Follow opening, closing and shift-handover procedures accurately
  • Keep the bar clean, organised, stocked and ready for service
  • Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, health and safety and licensing compliance
  • Complete cleaning, restocking and preparation tasks without needing to be chased
  • Handle orders and payments accurately
  • Look after equipment and report problems before they affect service
  • Work closely with the kitchen and floor teams to deliver a seamless guest experience
  • Remain calm, focused and supportive when the venue is busy
Be a Brilliant Teammate
  • Arrive prepared, on time and ready to contribute
  • Bring positive energy to pre-service briefings and every shift
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with the wider team
  • Support colleagues during busy periods and step in wherever needed
  • Take feedback positively and use it to improve
  • Share your knowledge and help newer team members develop
  • Celebrate great work and contribute to a culture of high standards and genuine care
  • Treat every guest and colleague with respect
Support Commercial Performance
  • Recommend drinks and food pairings naturally and confidently
  • Upsell through enthusiasm and product knowledge, never pressure
  • Help promote seasonal cocktails, specials and events
  • Follow portion controls and recipes to protect quality and margin
  • Reduce waste and report stock issues promptly
  • Understand how great hospitality, efficient service and product knowledge contribute to the venue’s success
What You Bring
  • Previous bartending experience in a quality-led, high-volume hospitality environment
  • Confidence preparing cocktails and serving a varied drinks selection
  • Genuine enthusiasm for cocktails, wine and hospitality
  • A warm, engaging personality and the confidence to connect with guests
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately without allowing standards to slip
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in keeping an immaculate bar
  • A calm and collaborative approach during busy services
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn about new products, flavours and techniques
  • Reliability, flexibility and a positive attitude
  • A desire to grow with an ambitious hospitality business
The Package
  • Competitive hourly rate plus service charge
  • Day-one access to the Culinary Collective People Hub, including discounts, wellbeing support and rewards
  • 50% off food and drink across all Culinary Collective sites for you and up to five guests
  • Training and development to strengthen your drinks knowledge and bartending skills
  • Real career-development opportunities within a growing, ambitious multi-site hospitality group
  • The opportunity to help shape a brand-new bar and what Spring Street becomes
