Job summary

Sticks’n’Sushi Birmingham is seeking energetic bar staff to join our launch team. You’ll deliver high standards of guest service in a buzzing, fast-paced environment, crafting drinks and guiding guests through our Danish‑Japanese menu with warmth and personality.

The role offers training ahead of opening, ongoing development at our Lead’n’Learn academy, and perks including team meals, restaurant discounts, and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

Next month, Sticks'n'Sushi is coming to Birmingham - our first restaurant in the Midlands, opening in the Paradise development on Chamberlain Square.

Sticks’n’Sushi is as unique as the city we're coming to. We serve high-quality, fresh food based on a unique combination of classic and creative sushi along with sticks from the grill, created by our 'Strange Fish'.

Fish are like us: we all swim together. But Strange Fish are bold, curious individuals who fit right in here. Those who are comfortable just being themselves, a little different perhaps. You will have walked a similar path before, but your spirit is ready for a role on our bar, where many things are happening at the same time. What you’ll be doing at Sticks ’n’ Sushi

• Ensure our bar service standards are carried out at the highest level and always prioritise the needs of the guests.
• Ensure that standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the bar and restaurant
• Continuously develop knowledge of our new products and concepts
• Be the face of our values, culture and brand, helping our guests to leave the real world behind for a little while
• Bring passion, energy, and personality to the bar
• Learn about Danish & Japanese culture, ingredients, and service style - so when you recommend a drink, pour sake or guide the guest through our menu, your focus is on mastering your craft

How we will support your journey with us

We will begin training 2 weeks before opening so that you can fully learn our menus, history, culture and stories. Once you have joined us you can continue to develop your skills at our Lead‘n’Learn academy, where structured training prepares you for new responsibilities and success in your role.
