Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd. seeks a talented Barista for our Brighton contract location affiliated with the University of Sussex. This 37.5-hour per week, 52-week contract runs Monday to Friday across breakfast, lunch, café and bar services.

Key duties include producing high-quality coffee, maintaining stock, handling wages and cash, and ensuring food hygiene and health and safety policies are followed. We offer a wide range of perks and opportunities for progression.

A state-of-the-art B&I location in Brighton, affiliated with the University of Sussex. Catering numbers vary as is open to the public. We have a breakfast, lunch, café and bar offering here. It is a Monday to Friday operation and is a 52 week contract.

We are looking for a talented Barista to join our team at one of our prestigious contracts in Brighton.

Key responsibilities:

• To work well in a team producing the best barista coffee for staff and visitors


• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.


• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.


• Ensure that all retail items are stocked and rotated regularly


• Set up of location in the mornings for daily operation


• Manage payments and any cash handling.


• Daily stock takes of products available

You will have the following skills:

• An all-round team player


• Personable, good sense of humour, fun.

Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
