Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking a Barista for a prestigious contract in Brighton. This full-time, 37.5-hour per week role operates Monday to Friday across a 52-week contract.

The position involves preparing high-quality barista coffee for staff and visitors at a state-of-the-art site affiliated with the University of Sussex. You will work as part of a team, ensure food standards, hygiene and allergen controls are followed, and contribute to stock management and daily openings.

Qualifications

• All-round team player with a friendly, approachable manner.
• Good sense of humour and positive attitude.
• Proficient in verbal English communication.
• Good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Experience in customer service or food preparation environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team to produce high-quality barista coffee for staff and visitors.
• Adhere to company food standards and manage wastage.
• Follow Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen controls.
• Ensure retail items are stocked and rotated regularly.
• Set up the location in the mornings for daily operation.
• Manage payments and handle cash transactions.
• Conduct daily stock takes of products.

A state-of-the-art B&I location in Brighton, affiliated with the University of Sussex. Catering numbers vary as is open to the public. We have a breakfast, lunch, café and bar offering here. It is a Monday to Friday operation and is a 52 week contract.

We are looking for a talented Barista to join our team at one of our prestigious contracts in Brighton.

Key responsibilities:

• To work well in a team producing the best barista coffee for staff and visitors


• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.


• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.


• Ensure that all retail items are stocked and rotated regularly


• Set up of location in the mornings for daily operation


• Manage payments and any cash handling.


• Daily stock takes of products available

You will have the following skills:

• An all-round team player


• Personable, good sense of humour, fun.

Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
