Job summary

Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia with an interest in bariatric anaesthesia. The post supports preparation for ST4 training with structured supervision, dedicated supervisor, and weekly teaching.

Applicants should have substantial anaesthetic experience and eligible GMC registration. The role includes obstetric anaesthesia, critical care involvement, and a teaching/portfolio development focus across DBTH sites, with

Qualifications

• MBChB/MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• FRCA Part 1 or equivalent qualification.
• Higher qualification in Anaesthesia (e.g., EDRA) or subspecialty fellowship.
• GMC registration and Licence to Practise.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective anaesthetic care across theatres, critical care and obstetrics.
• Participate in elective and emergency operating lists.
• Contribute to management of patients within critical care units.
• Provide obstetric anaesthesia including labour ward and emergency cover.
• Participate in full shift on-call rota, including nights and weekends.
• Tailor daytime clinical activity to interests and subspecialty exposure where possible.
• Attend weekly consultant-led teaching and complete SPA slot for study and portfolio development.
