Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia with Bariatric interest. The post is permanent, MT04, full-time 40 hours per week with on-call commitments and is aimed at doctors preparing for ST4 Anaesthesia training.

The role offers involvement in bariatric lists, obstetric anaesthesia, critical care, and teaching with structured supervision, career development pathways, and access to the Trust’s learning opportunities

Qualifications

• FRCA Part 1 or equivalent.
• Initial Assessment of Anaesthetic Competency completed.
• Initial Assessment of Obstetric Anaesthesia Competence completed.
• Higher qualification in Anaesthesia e.g., EDRA, subspeciality fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective anaesthetic care across theatres, critical care and obstetrics.
• Participate in elective and emergency operating lists.
• Contribute to the management of patients within critical care units.
• Provide obstetric anaesthesia including labour ward and emergency cover.
• Participate in the full shift on-call rota, including nights and weekends.
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
