Job summary

Market Halls Paddington is seeking a Bar Supervisor to lead from the front, ensuring smooth service and a memorable guest experience in a fast-paced market hall setting.

You will oversee a lively bar team, manage stock and standards, coach colleagues, and uphold safety and compliance while driving guest engagement and revenue opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising or leading a bar team in a busy hospitality environment.
• Strong product knowledge across beers, wines, spirits and cocktails.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach with strong organisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bar team through clear communication, hands-on leadership and energetic service.
• Oversee bar operations including set-up, stock management, cleanliness and closing procedures.
• Ensure drinks are prepared to specification and delivered with speed, consistency and great service.
• Support and develop the team through on-shift coaching, feedback and training.
• Maintain compliance and safety standards, including age verification, allergen awareness and till accuracy.
• Drive commercial performance through upselling, guest engagement and minimising wastage.

With 8 street-food traders, 2 bars, a live stage and a bustling terrace, it’s a high-energy venue that runs from morning commuters to late-night crowds. As Bar Supervisor, you’ll help lead the bar team in the thick of this vibrant environment, keeping service smooth, standards high and the good times rolling throughout every shift.

The role
