Job summary

Black Rock Restaurants is seeking an experienced Restaurant & Bar Supervisor for The Crazy Goose in Brighton. You will lead the team during service to ensure guests enjoy an exceptional experience from arrival to departure, while maintaining the highest standards across the restaurant and bar.

Responsibilities include managing reservations, opening/closing procedures, stocktakes, end-of-day cash-ups, and handling guest feedback with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Confident with food, wine and beverage knowledge.

Responsibilities

The Role

This role would suit someone who is ambitious, confident and ready to take the next step in their hospitality career. You’ll genuinely love people, food, wine and beverages, and enjoy being at the heart of a busy restaurant and bar.

As a Restaurant & Bar Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, leading the team during service and ensuring our guests receive an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive until they leave. You will be in sole charge of the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager.

You’ll be confident taking responsibility for the operation, including opening and closing the restaurant, managing reservations, completing Bar and Restaurant stocktakes, carrying out end-of-day cash-ups and dealing confidently with guest feedback and complaints.

• Is a self-motivated, confident and natural team player who thrives under pressure
• Has experience supervising a busy restaurant and/or bar environment
• Has a genuine passion for food, wine, cocktails and beverages
• Has excellent knowledge of food and beverage and the confidence to make recommendations to guests
• Is confident leading a team during busy services and able to motivate and inspire those around them
• Can confidently open and close the restaurant, ensuring all opening and closing procedures are completed correctly
• Is responsible for end-of-day cash-ups, ensuring all cash and payment procedures are accurate
• Can manage reservations, bookings and guest enquiries effectively
• Is confident dealing with guest feedback and complaints, resolving issues professionally and appropriately
• Can complete stocktakes and stock checks, identifying any discrepancies and escalating issues where required
• Has a keen eye for detail and takes pride in maintaining high standards across the restaurant and bar
• Leads by example, maintaining excellent standards of service, presentation and professionalism
• Is able to communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service
• Understands the importance of health & safety, food safety, licensing and company procedures
• Is organised and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Maintains a professional and positive manner, even under pressure
• Has excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
• Is flexible and happy to get stuck in wherever needed
• Is eligible to work full-time in the UK
