Job Title: Bar Manager

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Manager to oversee the smooth operation of a busy, independent, family-run pub. The role is full-time, averaging 40-43 hours per week, requiring a passion for the industry and good experience with social media.

Responsibilities

1. Managing Staff:
   • Overseeing a team of 7 bar staff
   • Creating weekly rotas
   • Managing staff on duty
   • Hiring and training new staff
   • Training on ales and new products
   • Addressing staff issues, timekeeping, misconduct
2. Operational Duties:
   • Ensuring smooth daily operations
   • Daily cash reconciliation
   • Organizing bar storage and overseeing cleaning rotas
   • Cellar management: maintaining ales, updating boards, line cleaning, troubleshooting
   • Till programming
   • Liaising with the kitchen
   • Providing excellent customer service and handling complaints
3. Social Media & Events:
   • Posting daily updates for food and drinks
   • Weekly promotional posts for events
   • Coordinating festivals, events, and private hires
   • Managing client bookings and custom requests
   • Organizing menus and packages for private parties
   • Collaborating with breweries for annual beer festivals
   • Coordinating drink-led events

Requirements

• Experience in bar management

• Availability to work 5 days a week, including weekends

Salary & Benefits

• £28,000 – £30,000 per year
