If you’re an experienced Bar Manager looking for a role that offers real work/life balance in a truly beautiful setting, this is one to seriously consider. Based at a stunning countryside wedding venue near Daventry, you’ll be part of a small, friendly team delivering unforgettable days for couples in a calm, well-organised environment. With a carefully managed events schedule and a supportive workplace culture, this is a rare chance to do the job you love—without sacrificing every evening, every weekend, or your peace of mind.

The role is full-time and permanent, leading the bar operation for a maximum of three weddings per week. You’ll take ownership of stock, pricing, bar setup, cleanliness and compliance, while heading up a team of regular casual bar staff. You’ll also work closely with the venue’s planning team to ensure couples receive the drinks packages they’ve carefully chosen in the lead-up to their big day.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking pride in their work, thrives on responsibility, and wants a stable, well-balanced role in a welcoming and picturesque environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the bar operation during weddings and private events
  • Manage and train a team of casual bar and breakfast staff
  • Allocate shifts using an app and ensure coverage for events
  • Oversee bar maintenance, cleaning, line management, and stock replenishment
  • Deliver drinks packages in collaboration with the venue’s planning team
  • Ensure all bar operations meet compliance and licensing standards
  • Implement and manage health & safety and fire procedures for bar staff
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the bar on event days
  • Responsibility for breakfast service the morning after weddings

Skills Required

  • Proven experience managing a bar, ideally within events or hospitality
  • Strong leadership skills and a calm, confident presence during busy periods
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with stock control, pricing, and general bar maintenance
  • Friendly, professional communication skills
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools (or happy to learn)
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle – essential due to rural location
  • A Personal Licence is a strong advantage
  • Willing to complete First Aid and Fire Safety training on site
  • Genuinely balanced full-time role with regular, predictable scheduling
  • Relaxed, countryside setting with no chaotic back-to-back events
  • Supportive and experienced planning team
  • Reasonable finish times – no extreme hospitality hours
  • Training provided in fire safety, first aid, and health & safety
  • Free parking on-site
  • A rare chance to be part of something special and stay long-term
