Job summary

Compass Children’s Homes in Ilkeston is seeking caring Bank Support Workers to make a lasting difference in the lives of children in care. You will work with young people, build trust, and provide safeguarding and support during shifts including sleep-ins.

No previous experience is required; you’ll receive a thorough induction and ongoing training. A valid manual driving licence is preferred. Flexible hours and comprehensive supervision help you grow your career with Compass.

Qualifications

• Must be 22 years of age or above to meet Ofsted regulations.
• Must be caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships.
• Must have a valid manual driving licence.
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Previous experience is not essential; comprehensive induction and ongoing training provided.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with children and young people in care, prioritising safeguarding and wellbeing.
• Meet a variety of children and young people, providing high levels of supervision and support as needed.
• Assist with care activities, including participation in hobbies and educational pursuits.
• Create timetables and set boundaries and expectations for the children.
