Job summary

The National Autistic Society in Scotland is inviting applications for a Bank Support Worker at Daldorch Community Outreach. You will follow individual support plans to help people live their best lives, with shifts that can include evenings and weekends, and the chance to pick flexible hours as a bank worker.

Training is provided, including autism-specific sessions, and you may hold a driving licence. This role supports children, young people and adults in a community setting and at home where

  • Experience with autistic people is helpful but not essential
  • Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome
  • Possession of a driving licence (minimum one year) is preferred

About the Service

Our service provides both community outreach and traditional building based Short Breaks (respite).

Our community outreach service is for children, young people and adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The service offers many forms of support to people in the community, at home, or both.The support we offer is based on individual people's needs and wishes - we develop person-centred plans and review them regularly.
Short Breaks can provide support for people aged 6-21. Based at Daldorch House, we provide person centred breaks within a safe environment. Facilities include a music room, art room, soft play, computer room and extensive grounds. Locally there are many parks for long walks and beaches are a 20-minute drive.

About the Role

We are looking for caring and reliable Bank Support Workers. Your role is to help people live their best lives by following their support plans and daily routines.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating)
  • Encourage activities they enjoy (swimming, hiking, arts & crafts)

As you are a bank worker, you will be able topick and choosethe shifts that you work, and services have a mixture of hours that can include evenings and weekends.

Possession of a driving licence (minimum one year)ispreferred
