Job description

Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard enriching the lives of the people we support, with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do!

Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives, Bolder’

We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over 100 national and regional awards!

We are focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.

We’re a multi-award winning charity that exists to ensure our colleagues and the people we support live the best lives possible. In 2025, we launched our new strategy - Best Lives, Bolder. Find our more here.

There are more great benefits too!

  • You can wear your own casual clothes, as we do not have a uniform!
  • Shopping discounts schemes - and a free blue light card
  • DBS is paid for by us!
  • Recommend a Friend Bonus scheme
  • Free wellbeing advice and support options

We are passionate about our people and every year we invest heavily in our front-line worker pay, in line with the Living Wage increase each April. This means that from 1st April 2026, our payrate for this role will be increasing to £13.12 per hour!

As a Bank Support Worker with Community Integrated Care, you’ll have the opportunity to support people across five supported living services in the Basingstoke area. Each service is unique, but what they all share is a warm, welcoming team and a group of people who are looking for someone kind, patient, and enthusiastic to join them.

The people you’ll be supporting have a range of learning disabilities and physical disabilities, and no two days will ever be the same. You might be helping someone enjoy a favourite hobby, supporting with day‑to‑day routines at home, or joining them on meaningful trips out in the community. At times, you may be offering physical support, helping with mobility, or using the training we provide to support someone safely with their personal care.

Because the services are close to one another, you’ll get to know lots of different people, each with their own personalities, preferences, and routines. Some love getting out and about — visiting local parks, cafés, shops, clubs, or simply going for a drive. Others prefer quieter days at home, enjoying activities like listening to music, crafts, cooking, watching films, or spending time in shared spaces.

You’ll work alongside dedicated staff teams in each service, who will welcome you and help you settle in quickly. As a bank worker, you’ll be an important part of making sure the people we support always receive safe, consistent, and person‑centred support — even when regular team members are on leave.

We will provide full training in the key areas you’ll need, including:

  • Supporting people with learning and physical disabilities
  • Medication
  • Moving and positioning
  • Safeguarding
  • Person‑centred approaches
  • Specialist training relevant to individual needs

Flexibility is a big part of this role — but so is the chance to build long‑term relationships, gain experience across multiple services, and make a genuine difference wherever you work.

If you’re someone who is calm, friendly, adaptable, and motivated to help people live their best life, you’ll feel right at home in any of our Basingstoke services.

It takes a special person to work in social care, and we recognise that not everyone who might be perfect for the role, will have any professional experience. This is why we are really passionate about recruiting to your values. This means we can recruit from all walks of life, from people with vast experience in support work or care assistant roles, to those with lived experiences looking after friends or family members with disabilities, to people with other transferable skills or those having no experience at all.

Do you have some, or all of the following attributes?

  • A caring nature, with a mature outlook
  • Patience, Resilience and DeterminationCompassion, Sensitivity, and Empathy
  • Honesty and Reliability
  • A strong work ethic, and a natural problem solver

Here at Community Integrated Care, we aim to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive employer, where all colleagues feel they belong. We want to be an organisation that is truly fair and equal to all - where individual diversity is valued, unique characteristics celebrated, and everyone feels able to bring their true selves to work.

By encouraging and embracing a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences, capabilities and viewpoints, we will build a stronger, richer, more vibrant workforce, which reflects the people we support, and the communities in which we work. It helps us make better decisions, bring fresh ideas and become a true provider and employer of choice.

We have a really clear plan to achieve this called A Place I Belong. This publicly sets out the promises we’ve made to achieving this vision and how we will hold ourselves to account to getting there. You can read more about this by clicking here.
