Spire St Anthony's Hospital in Sutton is seeking a Bank SSD Assistant to join the Sterile Services Department on a flexible basis, covering sickness, annual leave and busy periods. You will help prepare and sterilize instruments and support the theatre team.

We welcome applicants with appropriate Decontamination certificates and a willingness to work both independently and as part of a team; benefits include generous leave, pension, private medical insurance, and wellbeing programs.

Formación

• Certificate in Decontamination required.
• NVQ Level 3 in Decontamination preferred.
• TVQ Level 1 & 2 in Decontamination or City & Guilds Decontamination/Endoscopy.
• Self-motivated and able to work alone or in teams.
• Basic health, safety and hygiene awareness; infection control knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Receiving, sorting, inspecting, cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, preparing, sterilizing, storing and issuing reusable surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist theatre team to ensure instrumentation is correct and ready for use.
• Undertake routine tasks related to health and wellbeing.
• Communicate information and knowledge to colleagues.
• Contribute to personal development.
• Support health and safety and security.

Spire St Anthony's Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an Bank SSD Assistant to join the SSD team on a flexible working basis, covering sickness, annual leave and busy periods.

Founded in 1904, Spire St Anthony's Hospital delivers care through skilled and dedicated staff working together. With a completed £27m development investment, we provide very high quality healthcare to patients around Sutton, Epsom, Surrey and South London.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, with opportunity to make independent decisions, performs duties that will include receiving, sorting, inspecting, cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, preparing, sterilizing, storing and issuing reusable surgical instruments and equipment.
• To assist the multi-disciplinary theatre team to provide exemplary care by ensuring theatre and endoscopy instrumentation and equipment are correct and ready for use.
• Undertake routine tasks related to individual’s health and well-being.
• Production and communication of information and knowledge
• Contribute to own personal development.
• Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety and security.

Who we're looking for:

• Certificate in Decontamination or NVQ level 3 in Decontamination
• Or TVQ level 1 & 2inDecontamination
• Or City and Guilds Certificates in Decontamination / Endoscopy
• Self-Motivated
• Working alone and in teams
• Basic awareness of health, safety and hygiene
• Principles of infection control, fundamentals of microbiology and aseptic technique
• Knowledge of SSD machinery
• Knowledge of basic instruments and equipment
• Knowledge of sterile packing techniques
• Knowledge of ISO standards
• Ability to train and supervise Level I staff in all areas
