Job summary

Bembridge Sailing Club on the Isle of Wight is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our bank team. You will support the Head Chef during service, cover shifts and holidays, and help keep high standards across regular menus and one-off events.

Hours are flexible and offered according to the club's calendar, so this role suits someone looking for variety alongside other commitments. The ideal candidate has proven Sous Chef experience, knowledge of allergens, and a Level 2 Food Hygiene

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie.
• Knowledge of allergens including gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options.

Responsibilities

• Run the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence and support them during busy services.
• Prepare and cook dishes to a consistent, high standard.
• Help with menu preparation, ordering and stock control.
• Maintain food hygiene, allergen and health and safety standards at all times.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant.
• Work well with front-of-house staff and club volunteers.
• Guide and support junior kitchen staff.
