A leading healthcare institution, University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, seeks a managerial post within the Women’s Health Directorate. This role entails delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, achieving key performance targets, and ensuring high standards of patient care. The successful candidate will lead the management team, oversee service functions, and contribute to quality improvements aligned with NHS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective managerial leadership within the Women’s Health Directorate.
• Manage services proactively on a daily basis.
• Support the delivery of waiting time and access targets.
• Ensure safe and quality care for patients accessing the service.
• Line management of Secretarial and Admissions teams.
• Oversee the colposcopy service.

Job description

The post holder will be a key member of the Women’s Health Directorate Management Team, involved in delivering inpatient, outpatient, and theatre functions to support patient management and flow. The role includes achieving targets, supporting service improvements in line with the NHS plan and the Trust’s Service Improvement Agenda, and helping to meet key performance indicators within the specialty.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide effective managerial leadership within the Women’s Health Directorate.
2. Manage services proactively on a daily basis.
3. Support the delivery of waiting time and access targets set by the Trust and nationally.
4. Ensure safe and quality care for patients accessing the service.
5. Line management of Secretarial and Admissions teams.
6. Oversee the colposcopy service, including capacity management, compliance with screening regulations, and target achievement.
7. Provide support and cover for Band 5 staff as required.
