Job summary

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Bank Nurse for Hillside Lodge, a 60-bed care home in Pulborough. The role covers bank, zero-hours shifts with 12-hour blocks, 07:45–20:15 or 20:00–08:00, delivering comprehensive nursing care and medication administration to residents.

The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to high standards within a modern facility, with a focus on dementia care, activity support, and collaboration with other health professionals.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse with current pin.
• Experience in elderly care, including dementia.
• Knowledge of Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients health and care needs and develop care plans.
• Administering medication and monitoring responses.
• Provide nursing care including wound and palliative care.
• Coordinate personalised care with other healthcare professionals.
• Support daily living activities like bathing, dressing, toileting.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Follow CQC guidelines to maintain high care standards.
• Contribute to policies and procedures development and implementation.
• Participate in induction and ongoing staff training.
