Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure all staff contribute to the efficient running of the home and create a positive atmosphere for members, including acting up for the Head of Wellness if required.
2. Report any member ill health and arrange GP or professional visits when necessary.
3. Complete and maintain care plans in collaboration with members, relatives, and healthcare professionals, following NMC guidelines and company policy.
4. Assess social and healthcare needs of new members and review ongoing assessments regularly.
5. Maintain accurate records and ensure each member has an individual care plan, reviewed monthly or as needed.
6. Provide clear handover reports to team members at each shift change.
7. Administer prescribed medicines and record appropriately according to procedures and NMC guidelines.
8. Establish and maintain good communication with members and relatives.
9. Supervise and mentor new staff, providing guidance and support.
10. Update professional knowledge and skills through continuous learning.
11. Attend mandatory training sessions as required.
12. Report any infectious illnesses or accidents involving members or staff.
13. Implement and adhere to health and safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
14. Promote safe working practices within the home.
15. Contribute to safeguarding adults by following policies and reporting concerns.
16. Comply with all relevant government initiatives and NMC regulations.
17. Maintain confidentiality of all information gained during work.
18. Notify management of absences and return to work promptly.
19. Ensure the security of the home at all times.
20. Follow all company policies and procedures.
21. Ensure equipment is clean and maintained.
22. Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned.

Health & Safety

Maintain personal responsibilities under Health and Safety regulations, including safe storage of equipment and hazard control measures such as:

• Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
• Electricity at Work
• Lifting and Manual Handling
• Water Treatment and Legionella control
• Waste Management
• Reporting injuries and incidents

Assess infection control measures considering individual needs and report concerns following procedures, including safeguarding.

Qualifications

Nurse qualification and valid PIN.
