We have an Opportunity for Nurse Practitioners in Haematology at Hammersmith Hospital: Join our team as we expand our Ambulatory and Day Care services within Haematology. We are recruiting for Nurse Practitioner roles within the Haematology Day Care & Outpatient team.

Our Clinical Haematology service offers treatment for a wide range of haematological diseases, including stem cell transplants. You will work in a specialist centre, covering both malignant and benign haematology.

Main duties of the job

We seek registered nurses with recent experience in haematology/oncology, skilled in vascular access and trained in systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT).

  • The NP assesses, manages, and supports patients within their practice area, providing comprehensive care.
  • Performs physical examinations, mental health assessments, and remote assessments as appropriate.
  • Acts autonomously within the multidisciplinary team, responsible for their actions.
  • Involved in managing patients in haematology day care, initiating evidence-based treatments collaboratively.

Person specification

  • NMC registration and a degree in a related subject.
  • Post-registration qualification(s) in relevant areas (e.g., SACT, Haemato-oncology, Stem Cell Transplant).
  • Recognised physical assessment and prescribing modules at level 7.
  • MSc or MA in a related specialty.
  • Leadership and management courses.

Experience

  • Post-registration experience at band 6 or above, including relevant haematology/oncology experience.
  • Experience as a nurse practitioner, teaching, audit, service development, and research.

Skills/knowledge/abilities

  • Ability to work autonomously and in teams.
  • Deep knowledge of the area of practice and evidence-based approach.
  • Excellent organisational and ICT skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver educational programmes.
