We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP & YOI Hollesley Bay, a category D Prison located in the village of Hollesley, near Woodbridge in Suffolk.

In this role, you'll work with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours

The site currently offers a mix of shift patterns. Monday to Sunday: 8.00 to 16.00 or 07:00 - 17:00.

Salary

You will receive a bank hourly rate of £23.

Additional requirements

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review care plans, and develop treatment options.
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
  • Assess patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess with sound clinical knowledge.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, liaising with prescribers as required.
  • Share knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other.
