Job summary

Meallmore Ltd in Nairn is seeking a reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team in a busy care home. You will help keep areas clean, assist chefs with basic food prep and ensure high hygiene standards are met, while contributing to resident well-being.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. A good kitchen is a clean kitchen, and as a kitchen assistant you’ll be tasked with ensuring the hygiene and cleanliness are the best they can be whilst supporting chefs with basic tasks.

Role & Responsibilities

• Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
• Keeping kitchen areas clean and organised
• Assisting with basic food preparation when required under the supervision of the chefs
• Unloading deliveries and storing food items properly
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of kitchen duties
• Ensuring hygiene and safety standards are maintained

• A personal and warm approach with a genuine interest of the well-being of our residents
• It would be helpful to have a basic knowledge of food preparation and food hygiene however full training will be given – so we are keen to speak to anyone who likes a kitchen environment, who is interested and passionate about food and who cares about others
